Common Questions

How often should I get an oil change?
Most vehicles need an oil change every 5,000โ€“7,500 miles with conventional oil, or every 7,500โ€“10,000 miles with full synthetic. Max will advise based on your specific vehicle and how you drive. If you're not sure, call us โ€” it's a free answer.
Do you work on all makes and models?
Yes โ€” we service all domestic makes and most foreign imports, including Ford, Chevy, GMC, Dodge, Ram, Jeep, Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, and many others. We prefer not to work on German or European vehicles such as BMW, Mercedes, Audi, or Volkswagen, as those require specialized tooling and training beyond our current focus.
Do you offer same-day service?
For many routine services โ€” oil changes, brake pads, battery testing, diagnostics โ€” we can often complete the work the same day. It depends on our schedule. Call ahead at 704-910-2045 and we'll let you know what we can do.
What does a check engine light mean?
It could be something minor like a loose gas cap or something more serious like a misfire, oxygen sensor failure, or catalytic converter issue. We scan the codes and walk you through exactly what's going on โ€” no guessing, no unnecessary repairs.
Do I need an appointment?
Walk-ins are welcome, but calling ahead is always a good idea to make sure we have a bay available. For engine work, transmission repair, or complex jobs, scheduling in advance helps us get the right parts ordered before your vehicle arrives.
Are your prices lower than the dealership?
Almost always, yes โ€” significantly. Dealerships carry high overhead costs. We don't. You get the same quality work โ€” in many cases from mechanics with more hands-on experience than dealership service techs โ€” at a much lower price.
